'Truth' in the Bible
The Word became flesh and lived among us. We gazed on his glory, the kind of glory that belongs to the Father's unique Son, who is full of grace and truth.
John told the truth about him when he cried out, "This is the person about whom I said, "The one who comes after me ranks higher than me, because he existed before me.'"
because while the Law was given through Moses, grace and truth came through Jesus the Messiah.
Yet the time is coming, and is now here, when true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth. Indeed, the Father is looking for people like that to worship him.
God is spirit, and those who worship him must worship in spirit and truth."
And you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free."
Jesus told them, "If you were Abraham's children, you would be doing what Abraham did. But now you're trying to kill me, a man who has told you the truth that I heard from God. Abraham would'nt have done that.
You belong to your father the Devil, and you want to carry out the desires of your father. He was a murderer from the beginning and has never stood for truth, since there is no truth in him. Whenever he tells a lie, he speaks in character, because he is a liar and the father of lies.
But it is because I speak the truth that you don't believe me.
Can any of you prove me guilty of sin? If I'm telling the truth, why don't you believe me?
Jesus told him, "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.
He is the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it neither sees him nor recognizes him. But you recognize him, because he lives with you and will be in you.
"When the Helper comes, whom I will send to you from the Father the Spirit of Truth, who comes from the Father he will testify on my behalf.
However, I'm telling you the truth. It's for your advantage that I'm going away, because if I don't go away, the Helper won't come to you. But if I go, I will send him to you.
Yet when the Spirit of Truth comes, he'll guide you into all truth. He won't speak on his own accord, but he'll speak whatever he hears and will declare to you the things that are to come.
"Sanctify them by the truth. Your word is truth.
It is for their sakes that I sanctify myself, so that they, too, may be sanctified by the truth.
Jesus answered him, "If I have said anything wrong, tell me what it was. But if I have told the truth, why do you hit me?"
Pilate asked him, "So you are a king?" Jesus answered, "You say that I am a king. I was born for this, and I came into the world for this: to testify to the truth. Everyone who is committed to the truth listens to my voice."
Pilate asked him, "What is "truth'?" and then he went out to the Jewish leaders again and told them, "I find no basis for a charge against him.
The one who saw this has testified, and his testimony is true. He knows he is telling the truth so that you, too, may believe,
