'Food' in the Bible
I gave you milk to drink, not solid food, because you weren't ready for it. And you're still not ready!
Food is for the stomach, and the stomach is for food, but God will make them both unnecessary. The body is not meant for sexual immorality but for the Lord, and the Lord for the body.
Now concerning food offered to idols: We know that we all possess knowledge. Knowledge puffs up, but love builds up.
Now concerning eating food offered to idols: We know that no idol is real in this world and that there is only one God.
But not everyone has this knowledge. Some people are so accustomed to idolatry that when they eat food that has been offered to an idol, their conscience becomes contaminated because it is weak.
However, food will not bring us closer to God. We are no worse off if we do not eat food that has been offered to an idol, and no better off if we do.
Therefore, if food that I eat causes my brother to stumble, I will never eat meat again, in order to keep my brother from stumbling.
We have the right to earn our food, don't we?
You know that those who work in the Temple get their food from the Temple and that those who serve at the altar get their share of its offerings, don't you?
They all ate the same spiritual food
