'Surely' in the Bible
Surely you will be ashamed of the oaks which you have desired,And you will be embarrassed at the gardens which you have chosen.
Most certainly [Lord] You have abandoned your people, the house of Jacob,Because they are filled with influences from the east,And they are soothsayers [who foretell] like the Philistines;Also they strike bargains with the children of foreigners (pagans).
The LORD of the Heavenly Armies has declared this so I could hear it: "Surely many houses will become desolate, great and beautiful houses, without occupants.
And I say, 'Till when, O Lord?' And He saith, 'Surely till cities have been wasted without inhabitant, And houses without man, And the ground be wasted -- a desolation,
And the head of Ephraim is Samaria, and the head of Samaria is Remaliah's son. If ye will not believe, surely ye shall not be established.
for instruction and for testimony? Surely they are speaking like this because the truth hasn't dawned on them.
The LORD of hosts hath sworn, saying, Surely as I have thought, so shall it come to pass; and as I have purposed, so shall it stand:
The oracle concerning Moab.Surely in a night Ar of Moab is devastated and ruined;Surely in a night Kir of Moab is devastated and ruined.
My heart cries out for Moab;His fugitives are as far as Zoar and Eglath-shelishiyah,For they go up the ascent of Luhith weeping;Surely on the road to Horonaim they raise a cry of distress over their ruin.
For the waters of Nimrim are desolate.Surely the grass is withered, the tender grass died out,There is no green thing.
For the waters of Dimon are full of blood;Surely I will bring added woes upon Dimon,A lion upon the fugitives of Moab and upon the remnant of the land.
Therefore shall Moab howl for Moab, every one shall howl: for the foundations of Kirhareseth shall ye mourn; surely they are stricken.
Surely the princes of Zoan are fools, the counsel of the wise counsellers of Pharaoh is become brutish: how say ye unto Pharaoh, I am the son of the wise, the son of ancient kings?
And it was revealed in mine ears by the LORD of hosts, Surely this iniquity shall not be purged from you till ye die, saith the Lord GOD of hosts.
Behold, the LORD will carry thee away with a mighty captivity, and will surely cover thee.
He will surely violently turn and toss thee like a ball into a large country: there shalt thou die, and there the chariots of thy glory shall be the shame of thy lord's house.
Surely we wait for you [in] the path of your judgments, Yahweh, for your name and renown [are the] desire of [the] soul.
Surely your turning of things upside down shall be esteemed as the potter's clay: for shall the work say of him that made it, He made me not? or shall the thing framed say of him that framed it, He had no understanding?

Neither let Hezekiah make you trust in the LORD, saying, The LORD will surely deliver us: this city shall not be delivered into the hand of the king of Assyria.
Surely you have heard what the kings of Assyria have done to all countries, dooming them to destruction. So do you think you will be saved?
“The Lord will surely save me;So we will play my songs on stringed instrumentsAll the days of our life at the house of the Lord.”

Who has declared this from the beginning, that we might know?Or from former times, that we may say, “He is right!”?Surely there was no one who declared,Surely there was no one who proclaimed,Surely there was no one who heard your words.
Surely he cuts cedars for himself, and takes a cypress or an oak and raises it for himself among the trees of the forest. He plants a fir, and the rain makes it grow.
Thus saith the LORD, The labour of Egypt, and merchandise of Ethiopia and of the Sabeans, men of stature, shall come over unto thee, and they shall be thine: they shall come after thee; in chains they shall come over, and they shall fall down unto thee, they shall make supplication unto thee, saying, Surely God is in thee; and there is none else, there is no God.
Surely Thou art a God hiding Thyself, God of Israel -- Saviour!
I solemnly make this oath -- what I say is true and reliable: 'Surely every knee will bow to me, every tongue will solemnly affirm;
Surely, shall one say, in the LORD have I righteousness and strength: even to him shall men come; and all that are incensed against him shall be ashamed.
Calling a bird of prey from the east,The man of My purpose from a far country.Truly I have spoken; truly I will bring it to pass.I have planned it, surely I will do it.
“Surely My hand founded the earth,And My right hand spread out the heavens;When I call to them, they stand together.
Then I said, I have laboured in vain, I have spent my strength for nought, and in vain: yet surely my judgment is with the LORD, and my work with my God.
Lift up thine eyes round about, and behold: all these gather themselves together, and come to thee. As I live, saith the LORD, thou shalt surely clothe thee with them all, as with an ornament, and bind them on thee, as a bride doeth.
Because thy wastes, and thy desolate places, And the land of thy ruins, Surely now are straitened because of inhabitants, And far off have been those consuming thee.
Surely, thus says the Lord,“Even the captives of the mighty man will be taken away,And the prey of the tyrant will be rescued;For I will contend with the one who contends with you,And I will save your sons.
Therefore doth My people know My name, Therefore, in that day, Surely I am He who is speaking, behold Me.'
Surely he hath borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows: yet we did esteem him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted.
Behold, they shall surely gather together, but not by me: whosoever shall gather together against thee shall fall for thy sake.
"Let no foreigner who has joined himself to the LORD say: "The LORD will surely exclude me from his people.' Furthermore, let no eunuch say, "Look! I am just a dry tree.'"
Surely the isles shall wait for me, and the ships of Tarshish first, to bring thy sons from far, their silver and their gold with them, unto the name of the LORD thy God, and to the Holy One of Israel, because he hath glorified thee.
For as the earth brings forth its sprouts,And as a garden causes what is sown in it to spring up,So the Lord God will [most certainly] cause righteousness and justice and praiseTo spring up before all the nations [through the power of His word].
The LORD hath sworn by his right hand, and by the arm of his strength, Surely I will no more give thy corn to be meat for thine enemies; and the sons of the stranger shall not drink thy wine, for the which thou hast laboured:
but surely those who harvest it will eat it and praise the name of the LORD, and those who gather it will drink it in the courts of my sanctuary,' says your God."
For he said, Surely they are my people, children that will not lie: so he was their Saviour.
For [most certainly] You are our Father, even though Abraham [our ancestor] does not know usAnd Israel does not acknowledge us.You, O Lord, are [still] our Father,Our Redeemer from everlasting is Your name.
