But, Lord of Hosts, who judges righteously, who tests heart and mind, let me see Your vengeance on them, for I have presented my case to You.
You planted them, and they have taken root. They have grown and produced fruit. You are ever on their lips, but far from their conscience.
I, the Lord, examine the mind, I test the heart to give to each according to his way, according to what his actions deserve.
Lord of Hosts, testing the righteous and seeing the heart and mind, let me see Your vengeance on them, for I have presented my case to You.
I will kill her children with the plague. Then all the churches will know that I am the One who examines minds and hearts, and I will give to each of you according to your works.
Morish
These, 'with the fat thereof,' were often burned on the altar in the sacrifices. Le 3:4-15; 4:9; 7:4, etc. The same word, Kelayoth is translated 'reins,' (which signifies 'kidneys') when used symbolically of the inward feelings and affections.
