He judges among the gods:
“As I kept watching,
thrones were set in place,

its wheels were blazing fire.
A river of fire was flowing,
coming out from His presence.
Thousands upon thousands served Him;

The court was convened,
and the books were opened.
Let the nations be roused
and come to the Valley of Jehoshaphat,
for there I will sit down
to judge all the surrounding nations.

all the kings of Elam,
and all the kings of Media;
all the kings of the north, both near and far from one another;
that is, all the kingdoms of the world which are on the face of the earth.
Finally, the king of Sheshach will drink after them. “Then you are to say to them: This is what the Lord of Hosts, the God of Israel, says: Drink, get drunk, and vomit. Fall down and never get up again, as a result of the sword I am sending among you.

The Lord will indeed vindicate His people
and have compassion on His servants

None of those who flee will get away;
none of the fugitives will escape.
If they dig down to Sheol,
from there My hand will take them;
if they climb up to heaven,
from there I will bring them down.
If they hide themselves
on the top of Carmel,
from there I will track them down
and seize them;
if they conceal themselves
from My sight on the sea floor,
from there I will command
the sea serpent to bite them.

let me see Your vengeance on them,

“But you his successor, Belshazzar, have not humbled your heart, even though you knew all this. Instead, you have exalted yourself against the Lord of heaven. The vessels from His house were brought to you, and as you and your nobles, wives, and concubines drank wine from them, you praised the gods made of silver and gold, bronze, iron, wood, and stone, which do not see or hear or understand. MENE, MENE, TEKEL, PARSIN. This is the interpretation of the message:
MENE means that God has numbered the days of your kingdom and brought it to an end.
TEKEL means that you have been weighed in the balance and found deficient.
