and to requite their parents; for this is good and acceptable before God.
For do I now satisfy men, or God? Or do I seek to please men? For if I still pleased men, I should not be the servant of Christ.
But as we have been approved of God to be intrusted with the gospel, so we speak, not as pleasing men, but God who trieth our hearts.
For the kingdom of God is not meat and drink, but righteousness, and peace, and joy in the Holy Ghost. And he that in these serveth Christ, is acceptable to God, and approved by men.
But without faith it is impossible to please him; for he that cometh to God, must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.
But I have all things, and abound: I am filled, having received of Epaphroditus the things which came from you, an odour of a sweet smell, an acceptable sacrifice, well pleasing to God.
But to do good, and to distribute, forget not; for with such sacrifices God is well pleased.
Now the God of peace, who brought again from the dead the great shepherd of the sheep, our Lord Jesus, by the blood of the everlasting covenant, Make you perfect in every good work, to do his will, working in you that which is well pleasing in his sight thro' Christ Jesus; to whom be the glory for ever and ever.
