For by grace ye are saved through faith; and this not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast.

not according to our works, but according to his own purpose and grace, which was given us in Christ Jesus, before the world began;

But when the kindness and philanthropy of God our Saviour appeared, Not by works of righteousness which we had done, but according to his own mercy he saved us, by the laver of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost.

Every tree that bringeth not forth good fruit, is hewn down, and cast into the fire. Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them.

Either make the tree good and its fruit good, or make the tree corrupt and its fruit corrupt; for the tree is known by its fruit.

Bring forth therefore fruits worthy of repentance; and say not within yourselves, We have Abraham to our father; for I say to you, that God is able of these stones to raise up children to Abraham. And now also the axe lieth at the root of the trees: every tree therefore which bringeth not forth good fruit, is hewn down, and cast into the fire.

For not the hearers of the law are just before God, but the doers of the law shall be justified.

For God is not unrighteous, to forget your work and labour of love, which ye have shewed toward his name, in that ye have ministered to the saints, and do minister. But art thou willing to know, O empty man, that faith without works is dead? Was not Abraham our father justified by works, when he had offered up Isaac his son upon the altar? And the scripture was fulfilled which saith, Abraham believed God, and it was imputed to him for righteousness: and he was called the friend of God. Ye see then, that a man is justified by works, and not by faith only. In like manner Rahab the harlot also was justified by works, having received the messengers and sent them out another way? Therefore as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also.

But let us not be weary of well doing; for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not.

Masters, give your servants that which is just and equitable, knowing that ye also have a master in heaven.

in doctrine, uncorruptness, seriousness, Sound speech that cannot be reproved; that he who is on the contrary part may be ashamed, having no evil thing to say of us.

This is a faithful saying, and these things I will that thou affirm constantly, to the end that they who have believed in God, be careful to excel in good works: these things are good and profitable to men.
