'Of The Earth' in the Bible

The kings of the earth take their stand;And the rulers take counsel togetherAgainst the Lord and His Anointed (the Davidic King, the Messiah, the Christ), saying,

‘Ask of Me, and I will assuredly give [You] the nations as Your inheritance,And the ends of the earth as Your possession.

Now therefore, O kings, act wisely;Be instructed and take warning, O leaders (judges, rulers) of the earth.

To vindicate and obtain justice for the fatherless and the oppressed,So that man who is of the earth will no longer terrify them.

All the ends of the earth will remember and turn to the Lord,And all the families of the nations will bow down and worship before You,

From His dwelling place He looks closelyUpon all the inhabitants of the earth—

He makes wars to cease to the end of the earth;He breaks the bow into pieces and snaps the spear in two;He burns the chariots with fire.

The princes of the people have gathered together as the people of the God of Abraham,For the shields of the earth belong to God;He is highly exalted.

As is Your name, O God,So is Your praise to the ends of the earth;Your right hand is full of righteousness (rightness, justice).

Destroy them in wrath, destroy them so that they may be no more;Let them know that God rules over Jacob (Israel)To the ends of the earth. Selah.

From the end of the earth I call to You, when my heart is overwhelmed and weak;Lead me to the rock that is higher than I [a rock that is too high to reach without Your help].

But those who seek my life to destroy itWill [be destroyed and] go into the depths of the earth [into the underworld].

By awesome and wondrous things You answer us in righteousness, O God of our salvation,You who are the trust and hope of all the ends of the earth and of the farthest sea;

God blesses us,And all the ends of the earth shall fear Him [with awe-inspired reverence and submissive wonder].

Sing to God, O kingdoms of the earth,Sing praises to the Lord! Selah.

You who have shown me many troubles and distressesWill revive and renew me again,And will bring me up again from the depths of the earth.

May he also rule from sea to seaAnd from the River [Euphrates] to the ends of the earth.

There will be an abundance of grain in the soil on the top of the mountains;Its fruit will wave like [the cedars of] Lebanon,And those of the city will flourish like grass of the earth.

Yet God is my King of old,Working salvation in the midst of the earth.

You have defined and established all the borders of the earth [the divisions of land and sea and of the nations];You have made summer and winter.

For a cup [of His wrath] is in the hand of the Lord, and the wine foams;It is well mixed and fully spiced, and He pours out from it;And all the wicked of the earth must drain it and drink down to its dregs.

When God arose to [establish] judgment,To save all the humble of the earth. Selah.

He will cut off the spirit of princes;He is awesome and feared by the kings of the earth.

They have given the dead bodies of Your servants as food to the birds of the heavens,The flesh of Your godly ones to the beasts of the earth.

The rulers do not know nor do they understand;They walk on in the darkness [of complacent satisfaction];All the foundations of the earth [the fundamental principles of the administration of justice] are shaken.

“I will also make him My firstborn (preeminent),The highest of the kings of the earth.

You turn man back to dust,And say, “Return [to the earth], O children of [mortal] men!”

Rise up, O Judge of the earth;Give to the proud a fitting compensation.

In whose hand are the depths of the earth;The peaks of the mountains are His also.

He has [graciously] remembered His lovingkindness and His faithfulness to the house of Israel;All the ends of the earth have witnessed the salvation of our God.

So the nations will fear the name of the Lord,And all the kings of the earth [will recognize] Your glory.

“At the beginning You founded the earth;The heavens are the work of Your hands.

He established the earth on its foundations,So that it will not be moved forever and ever.

He causes grass to grow for the cattle,And all that the earth produces for cultivation by man,So that he may bring food from the earth—

And that He would cast out their descendants among the nationsAnd scatter them in the lands [of the earth].

You have removed all the wicked of the earth like dross [for they have no value];Therefore I love Your testimonies.

Who causes the clouds to rise from the ends of the earth;Who makes lightning for the rain,Who brings the wind from His storehouses;

My frame was not hidden from You,When I was being formed in secret,And intricately and skillfully formed [as if embroidered with many colors] in the depths of the earth.

Kings of the earth and all people;Princes and all judges of the earth;
