Sing to the Lord with thanksgiving;play the lyre to our God,
Exalt the Lord, Jerusalem;praise your God, Zion!
Let the exaltation of God be in their mouthsand a double-edged sword in their hands,
Hallelujah!Praise God in His sanctuary.Praise Him in His mighty heavens.
then you will understand the fear of the Lordand discover the knowledge of God.
who abandons the companion of her youthand forgets the covenant of her God;
Then you will find favor and high regardin the sight of God and man.
It is the glory of God to conceal a matterand the glory of kings to investigate a matter.
Every word of God is pure;He is a shield to those who take refuge in Him.
Otherwise, I might have too muchand deny You, saying, “Who is the Lord?”or I might have nothing and steal, profaning the name of my God.
I applied my mind to seek and explore through wisdom all that is done under heaven. God has given people this miserable task to keep them occupied.
I have seen the task that God has given people to keep them occupied.
He has made everything appropriate in its time. He has also put eternity in their hearts, but man cannot discover the work God has done from beginning to end.
It is also the gift of God whenever anyone eats, drinks, and enjoys all his efforts.
I know that all God does will last forever; there is no adding to it or taking from it. God works so that people will be in awe of Him.
Whatever is, has already been, and whatever will be, already is. God repeats what has passed.
I said to myself, “God will judge the righteous and the wicked, since there is a time for every activity and every work.”
I said to myself, “This happens concerning people, so that God may test them and they may see for themselves that they are like animals.”
Guard your steps when you go to the house of God. Better to draw near in obedience than to offer the sacrifice as fools do, for they ignorantly do wrong.
Do not be hasty to speak, and do not be impulsive to make a speech before God. God is in heaven and you are on earth, so let your words be few.
When you make a vow to God, don’t delay fulfilling it, because He does not delight in fools. Fulfill what you vow.
Do not let your mouth bring guilt on you, and do not say in the presence of the messenger that it was a mistake. Why should God be angry with your words and destroy the work of your hands?
For many dreams bring futility, so do many words. Therefore, fear God.
Here is what I have seen to be good: it is appropriate to eat, drink, and experience good in all the labor one does under the sun during the few days of his life God has given him, because that is his reward.
God has also given riches and wealth to every man, and He has allowed him to enjoy them, take his reward, and rejoice in his labor. This is a gift of God,
for he does not often consider the days of his life because God keeps him occupied with the joy of his heart.
God gives a man riches, wealth, and honor so that he lacks nothing of all he desires for himself, but God does not allow him to enjoy them. Instead, a stranger will enjoy them. This is futile and a sickening tragedy.
Consider the work of God,for who can straighten outwhat He has made crooked?
In the day of prosperity be joyful, but in the day of adversity, consider: God has made the one as well as the other, so that man cannot discover anything that will come after him.
It is good that you grasp the one and do not let the other slip from your hand. For the one who fears God will end up with both of them.
And I find more bitter than death the woman who is a trap, her heart a net, and her hands chains. The one who pleases God will escape her, but the sinner will be captured by her.
Only see this: I have discovered that God made people upright, but they pursued many schemes.”
Keep the king’s command because of your oath made before God.
Although a sinner commits crime a hundred times and prolongs his life, yet I also know that it will go well with God-fearing people, for they are reverent before Him.
However, it will not go well with the wicked, and they will not lengthen their days like a shadow, for they are not reverent before God.
So I commended enjoyment because there is nothing better for man under the sun than to eat, drink, and enjoy himself, for this will accompany him in his labor during the days of his life that God gives him under the sun.
I observed all the work of God and concluded that man is unable to discover the work that is done under the sun. Even though a man labors hard to explore it, he cannot find it; even if the wise man claims to know it, he is unable to discover it.
Go, eat your bread with pleasure, and drink your wine with a cheerful heart, for God has already accepted your works.
Just as you don’t know the path of the wind,or how bones develop in the womb of a pregnant woman,so you don’t know the work of God who makes everything.
Rejoice, young man, while you are young, and let your heart be glad in the days of your youth. And walk in the ways of your heartand in the sight of your eyes;but know that for all of these things God will bring you to judgment.
and the dust returns to the earth as it once was,and the spirit returns to God who gave it.
When all has been heard, the conclusion of the matter is: fear God and keep His commands, because this is for all humanity.
For God will bring every act to judgment, including every hidden thing, whether good or evil.
Hear the word of the Lord, you rulers of Sodom!Listen to the instruction of our God,you people of Gomorrah!
Therefore the Lord God of Hosts, the Mighty One of Israel, declares:“Ah, I will gain satisfaction from My foes;I will take revenge against My enemies.
and many peoples will come and say,“Come, let us go up to the mountain of the Lord,to the house of the God of Jacob. He will teach us about His waysso that we may walk in His paths.”For instruction will go out of Zionand the word of the Lord from Jerusalem.
Observe this: The Lord God of Hostsis about to remove from Jerusalem and from Judahevery kind of security:the entire supply of bread and water,

This is what the Lord God says:It will not happen; it will not occur.
“Ask for a sign from the Lord your God—from the depths of Sheol to the heights of heaven.”
Isaiah said, “Listen, house of David! Is it not enough for you to try the patience of men? Will you also try the patience of my God?
Devise a plan; it will fail.Make a prediction; it will not happen. For God is with us.
When they say to you, “Consult the spirits of the dead and the spiritists who chirp and mutter,” shouldn’t a people consult their God? Should they consult the dead on behalf of the living?
They will wander through the land, dejected and hungry. When they are famished, they will become enraged, and, looking upward, will curse their king and their God.
For a child will be born for us,a son will be given to us,and the government will be on His shoulders. He will be namedWonderful Counselor, Mighty God,Eternal Father, Prince of Peace.
Therefore the Lord God of Hostswill inflict an emaciating diseaseon the well-fed of Assyria, and He will kindle a burning fireunder its glory.
The remnant will return, the remnant of Jacob,to the Mighty God.
For throughout the landthe Lord God of Hostsis carrying out a destruction that was decreed.
Therefore, the Lord God of Hosts says this: “My people who dwell in Zion, do not fear Assyria, though he strikes you with a rod and raises his staff over you as the Egyptians did.
Look, the Lord God of Hostswill chop off the branches with terrifying power, and the tall trees will be cut down, the high trees felled.
Indeed, God is my salvation;I will trust Him and not be afraid, for Yah, the Lord,is my strength and my song.He has become my salvation.”
And Babylon, the jewel of the kingdoms, the glory of the pride of the Chaldeans, will be like Sodom and Gomorrahwhen God overthrew them.
You said to yourself:“I will ascend to the heavens;I will set up my throneabove the stars of God.I will sit on the mount of the gods’ assembly,in the remotest parts of the North.
Only gleanings will be left in Israel,as if an olive tree had been beaten—two or three berries at the very top of the tree, four or five on its fruitful branches. This is the declaration of the Lord, the God of Israel.
For you have forgotten the God of your salvation, and you have failed to rememberthe rock of your strength;therefore you will plant beautiful plantsand set out cuttings from exotic vines.
I will deliver Egypt into the hands of harsh masters, and a strong king will rule it.This is the declaration of the Lord God of Hosts.
My people who have been crushedon the threshing floor,I have declared to youwhat I have heard from the Lord of Hosts, the God of Israel.
The remaining Kedarite archers will be few in number.” For the Lord, the God of Israel, has spoken.
For the Lord God of Hostshad a day of tumult, trampling, and confusionin the Valley of Vision—people shouting and crying to the mountains;
On that day the Lord God of Hostscalled for weeping, for wailing, for shaven heads, and for the wearing of sackcloth.
The Lord of Hosts has directly revealed to me:“This sin of yours will never be wiped out.”The Lord God of Hosts has spoken.
The Lord God of Hosts said: “Go to Shebna, that steward who is in charge of the palace, and say to him:
Therefore, in the east honor the Lord!In the islands of the westhonor the name of Yahweh, the God of Israel.
Yahweh, You are my God;I will exalt You. I will praise Your name, for You have accomplished wonders, plans formed long ago, with perfect faithfulness.
He will destroy death forever. The Lord God will wipe away the tearsfrom every faceand remove His people’s disgracefrom the whole earth, for the Lord has spoken.
On that day it will be said,“Look, this is our God;we have waited for Him, and He has saved us.This is the Lord; we have waited for Him.Let us rejoice and be glad in His salvation.”
Yahweh our God, lords other than You have ruled over us,but we remember Your name alone.
Therefore the Lord God said:“Look, I have laid a stone in Zion,a tested stone,a precious cornerstone, a sure foundation;the one who believes will be unshakable.
So now, do not mock,or your shackles will become stronger.Indeed, I have heard from the Lord God of Hostsa decree of destruction for the whole land.
His God teaches him order; He instructs him.
For when he sees his children, the work of My hands within his nation, they will honor My name, they will honor the Holy One of Jacoband stand in awe of the God of Israel.
For the Lord God, the Holy One of Israel, has said:“You will be delivered by returning and resting;your strength will lie in quiet confidence. But you are not willing.”
Therefore the Lord is waiting to show you mercy, and is rising up to show you compassion, for the Lord is a just God.All who wait patiently for Him are happy.
Egyptians are men, not God;their horses are flesh, not spirit. When the Lord raises His hand to strike, the helper will stumbleand the one who is helped will fall;both will perish together.
It will blossom abundantlyand will also rejoice with joy and singing. The glory of Lebanon will be given to it,the splendor of Carmel and Sharon. They will see the glory of the Lord, the splendor of our God.
Say to the cowardly:“Be strong; do not fear! Here is your God; vengeance is coming.God’s retribution is coming; He will save you.”
Suppose you say to me, ‘We trust in the Lord our God.’ Isn’t He the One whose high places and altars Hezekiah has removed, saying to Judah and Jerusalem, ‘You are to worship at this altar’?
Perhaps Yahweh your God will hear all the words of the Rabshakeh, whom his master the king of Assyria sent to mock the living God, and will rebuke him for the words that Yahweh your God has heard. Therefore offer a prayer for the surviving remnant.’”
“Say this to Hezekiah king of Judah: ‘Don’t let your God, whom you trust, deceive you by promising that Jerusalem won’t be handed over to the king of Assyria.
Lord of Hosts, God of Israel, who is enthroned above the cherubim, You are God—You alone—of all the kingdoms of the earth. You made the heavens and the earth.
Listen closely, Lord, and hear; open Your eyes, Lord, and see. Hear all the words that Sennacherib has sent to mock the living God.
Now, Lord our God, save us from his power so that all the kingdoms of the earth may know that You are the Lord—You alone.
Then Isaiah son of Amoz sent a message to Hezekiah: “The Lord, the God of Israel, says: ‘Because you prayed to Me about Sennacherib king of Assyria,
One day, while he was worshiping in the temple of his god Nisroch, his sons Adrammelech and Sharezer struck him down with the sword and escaped to the land of Ararat. Then his son Esar-haddon became king in his place.
“Go and tell Hezekiah that this is what the Lord God of your ancestor David says: I have heard your prayer; I have seen your tears. Look, I am going to add 15 years to your life.
“Comfort, comfort My people,”says your God.
A voice of one crying out:Prepare the way of the Lord in the wilderness;make a straight highway for our God in the desert.
The grass withers, the flowers fade, but the word of our God remains forever.”
Zion, herald of good news,go up on a high mountain.Jerusalem, herald of good news, raise your voice loudly.Raise it, do not be afraid!Say to the cities of Judah,“Here is your God!”
