And we know that the Son of God hath come, and hath given us understanding, that we may know the True One; and we are in the True One, in his Son Jesus Christ. This is the true God, and everlasting life.
I can of myself do nothing. As I hear, I judge; and my judgment is just, because I seek not my own will, but the will of him that sent me.

For such a highpriest also became us, holy, harmless, undefiled, separate from sinners, and made higher than the heavens;

And he said to them, Why is it that ye have been seeking me? Did ye not know that I must be about my Fathers business?
And he that sent me is with me; he hath not left me alone, for I always do the things that please him.
Whence it was right for him to be in all respects made like to his brethren, that he might become a merciful and faithful highpriest in things pertaining to God, to make propitiation for the sins of the people.
But for this cause I obtained mercy, that in me especially Christ Jesus might show forth all his longsuffering, as an example to those who should hereafter believe in him to life everlasting.
Now before the feast of the passover, Jesus, knowing that his hour had come that he should depart out of this world to the Father, having loved his own who were in the world, loved them unto the end.
Greater love hath no one than this, that he lay down his life for his friends.
For ye know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that though he was rich, yet for your sakes he became poor, that ye through his poverty might be rich.
For which is greater? he who reclineth at the table, or he who serveth? Is not he that reclineth at the table? But I am in the midst of you as he who serveth.

For he determined beforehand that those whom he foreknew should be conformed to the image of his Son, in order that he might be the firstborn among many brethren.
