To You belongs silence [the submissive wonder of reverence], and [it bursts into] praise in Zion, O God;And to You the vow shall be performed.
Sing of the honor and glory and magnificence of His name;Make His praise glorious.
O God, when You went out before Your people,When You marched through the wilderness, Selah.

Hear us O Shepherd of Israel,You who lead Joseph like a flock; You who sit enthroned above the cherubim [of the ark of the covenant], shine forth!
You have put my friends far from me;You have made me an object of loathing to them.I am shut up and I cannot go out.
My eye grows dim with sorrow.O Lord, I have called on You every day;I have spread out my hands to You [in prayer].
Before the mountains were bornOr before You had given birth to the earth and the world,Even from everlasting to everlasting, You are [the eternal] God.

You send springs into the valleys;Their waters flow among the mountains.
He causes grass to grow for the cattle,And all that the earth produces for cultivation by man,So that he may bring food from the earth—
You [O Lord] make darkness and it becomes night,In which prowls about every wild beast of the forest.
