For the earth which drinketh in the rain that cometh often upon it, and bringeth forth herbs meet for them for whom it is tilled, receiveth blessing from God. But that which beareth thorns and briars is rejected and nigh unto a curse, whose end is to be burned.

But he who received the seed in stony places, is he that heareth the word, and immediately receiveth it with joy. Yet hath he not root in himself, and so endureth but for a while: for when tribulation or persecution ariseth because of the word, straight-way he is offended.

And these are they likewise who have received the seed on stony ground, who when they have heard the word, immediately receive it with joy: But have not root in themselves, and so indure but for a time: afterward when affliction or persecution ariseth because of the word, they are presently offended.

Those on the rock are they, who, when they hear, receive the word with joy. But they have no root, who for a while believe; but in time of temptation fall away.

Then one of the twelve, called Judas Iscariot, going to the chief priests, Said, What will ye give me, and I will deliver him to you? And they bargained with him for thirty pieces of silver. And from that time he sought opportunity to betray him.

And immediately she fell at his feet and expired; and the young men coming in, found her dead, and carrying her out, buried her by her husband. And great fear came upon all the church, and upon all that heard these things.

Holding fast faith and a good conscience; which some having thrust away, have made shipwreck of their faith. Among which are Hymeneus and Alexander, whom I have delivered to satan, that they may learn not to blaspheme.

They profess to know God, but by their works they deny him, being abominable and disobedient, and void of judgment as to every good work.

But chiefly them that walk after the flesh in the lust of uncleanness and despise government: presumptuous, self-willed; they are not afraid to rail at dignities: Whereas angels, who are greater in power and might, bring not a railing accusation against them before the Lord. But these, as natural brute beasts, born to be taken and destroyed, speak evil of the things they understand not, and shall perish in their own corruption,read more.
Receiving the reward of unrighteousness. They count it pleasure to riot in the day time; spots and blemishes, sporting themselves with their own deceivings, while they feast with you, Having eyes full of adultery, and that cease not from sin; beguiling unstable souls, having hearts exercised with covetousness, accursed children: Who have forsaken the right way and are gone astray, following the way of Balaam, the son of Boser, who loved the reward of unrighteousness.

For if after they have escaped the pollutions of the world, thro the knowledge of the Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, they are again intangled therein and overcome, their last state is worse then the first. For it had been better for them, not to have known the way of righteousness, than having known it, to turn from the holy commandment delivered to them. But it has befallen them according to the true proverb, The dog is turned to his own vomit, and the sow that was washed to her wallowing in the mire.

For there are certain men crept in unawares, who were of old described before with regard to this condemnation, ungodly men, turning the grace of our God into lasciviousness, and denying our only Master and Lord, Jesus Christ.

And I gave her time to repent of her fornication; but she will not repent. Behold I will cast her into a bed, and them that commit adultery with her, into great affliction, unless they repent of her works.
