'Heart' in the Bible
Tremble, and do not sin;Meditate in your heart upon your bed, and be still. Selah.
You have put gladness in my heart,More than when their grain and new wine abound.
My shield is with God,Who saves the upright in heart.

O Lord, You have heard the desire of the humble;You will strengthen their heart, You will incline Your ear
For, behold, the wicked bend the bow,They make ready their arrow upon the stringTo shoot in darkness at the upright in heart.
They speak falsehood to one another;With flattering lips and with a double heart they speak.
How long shall I take counsel in my soul,Having sorrow in my heart all the day?How long will my enemy be exalted over me?
But I have trusted in Your lovingkindness;My heart shall rejoice in Your salvation.
For the choir director. A Psalm of David.The fool has said in his heart, “There is no God.”They are corrupt, they have committed abominable deeds;There is no one who does good.
He who walks with integrity, and works righteousness,And speaks truth in his heart.
Therefore my heart is glad and my glory rejoices;My flesh also will dwell securely.
You have tried my heart;You have visited me by night;You have tested me and You find nothing;I have purposed that my mouth will not transgress.
They have closed their unfeeling heart,With their mouth they speak proudly.
The precepts of the Lord are right, rejoicing the heart;The commandment of the Lord is pure, enlightening the eyes.
Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heartBe acceptable in Your sight,O Lord, my rock and my Redeemer.
I am poured out like water,And all my bones are out of joint;My heart is like wax;It is melted within me.
The afflicted will eat and be satisfied;Those who seek Him will praise the Lord.Let your heart live forever!
He who has clean hands and a pure heart,Who has not lifted up his soul to falsehoodAnd has not sworn deceitfully.
The troubles of my heart are enlarged;Bring me out of my distresses.
Examine me, O Lord, and try me;Test my mind and my heart.
Though a host encamp against me,My heart will not fear;Though war arise against me,In spite of this I shall be confident.
When You said, “Seek My face,” my heart said to You,“Your face, O Lord, I shall seek.”

O continue Your lovingkindness to those who know You,And Your righteousness to the upright in heart.
Delight yourself in the Lord;And He will give you the desires of your heart.

The law of his God is in his heart;His steps do not slip.
I am benumbed and badly crushed;I groan because of the agitation of my heart.
My heart throbs, my strength fails me;And the light of my eyes, even that has gone from me.

I have not hidden Your righteousness within my heart;I have spoken of Your faithfulness and Your salvation;I have not concealed Your lovingkindness and Your truth from the great congregation.
For evils beyond number have surrounded me;My iniquities have overtaken me, so that I am not able to see;They are more numerous than the hairs of my head,And my heart has failed me.
And when he comes to see me, he speaks falsehood;His heart gathers wickedness to itself;When he goes outside, he tells it.
Our heart has not turned back,And our steps have not deviated from Your way,
Would not God find this out?For He knows the secrets of the heart.

Your arrows are sharp;The peoples fall under You;Your arrows are in the heart of the King’s enemies.
Therefore we will not fear, though the earth should changeAnd though the mountains slip into the heart of the sea;
My mouth will speak wisdom,And the meditation of my heart will be understanding.
Create in me a clean heart, O God,And renew a steadfast spirit within me.
The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit;A broken and a contrite heart, O God, You will not despise.

The righteous man will be glad in the Lord and will take refuge in Him;And all the upright in heart will glory.
If I regard wickedness in my heart,The Lord will not hear;
Reproach has broken my heart and I am so sick.And I looked for sympathy, but there was none,And for comforters, but I found none.
The humble have seen it and are glad;You who seek God, let your heart revive.
A Psalm of Asaph.Surely God is good to Israel,To those who are pure in heart!
Their eye bulges from fatness;The imaginations of their heart run riot.
Surely in vain I have kept my heart pureAnd washed my hands in innocence;

My flesh and my heart may fail,But God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever.

A perverse heart shall depart from me;I will know no evil.
Whoever secretly slanders his neighbor, him I will destroy;No one who has a haughty look and an arrogant heart will I endure.

Glory in His holy name;Let the heart of those who seek the Lord be glad.

Because he did not remember to show lovingkindness,But persecuted the afflicted and needy man,And the despondent in heart, to put them to death.
For I am afflicted and needy,And my heart is wounded within me.
Praise the Lord!I will give thanks to the Lord with all my heart,In the company of the upright and in the assembly.
He will not fear evil tidings;His heart is steadfast, trusting in the Lord.
His heart is upheld, he will not fear,Until he looks with satisfaction on his adversaries.
How blessed are those who observe His testimonies,Who seek Him with all their heart.
I shall give thanks to You with uprightness of heart,When I learn Your righteous judgments.
With all my heart I have sought You;Do not let me wander from Your commandments.
