'Here I Am' in the Bible

After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, “Abraham!”“Here I am,” he answered.

Then Isaac spoke to his father Abraham and said, “My father.”And he replied, “Here I am, my son.”Isaac said, “The fire and the wood are here, but where is the lamb for the burnt offering?”

But the Angel of the Lord called to him from heaven and said, “Abraham, Abraham!”He replied, “Here I am.”

When Isaac was old and his eyes were so weak that he could not see, he called his older son Esau and said to him, “My son.”And he answered, “Here I am.”

When he came to his father, he said, “My father.”And he answered, “Here I am. Who are you, my son?”

He ran to Eli and said, “Here I am; you called me.”“I didn’t call,” Eli replied. “Go back and lie down.” So he went and lay down.

Once again the Lord called, “Samuel!”Samuel got up, went to Eli, and said, “Here I am; you called me.”“I didn’t call, my son,” he replied. “Go back and lie down.”

Once again, for the third time, the Lord called Samuel. He got up, went to Eli, and said, “Here I am; you called me.”Then Eli understood that the Lord was calling the boy.

but Eli called him and said, “Samuel, my son.”“Here I am,” answered Samuel.

Here I am. Bring charges against me before the Lord and His anointed: Whose ox or donkey have I taken? Whom have I wronged or mistreated? From whose hand have I taken a bribe to overlook something? I will return it to you.”

She stood up, then bowed her face to the ground and said, “Here I am, your servant, to wash the feet of my lord’s servants.”

However, if He should say, ‘I do not delight in you,’ then here I am—He can do with me whatever pleases Him.”

Here I am with the children the Lord has given me to be signs and wonders in Israel from the Lord of Hosts who dwells on Mount Zion.

Therefore My people will know My name;therefore they will know on that daythat I am He who says:Here I am.”

At that time, when you call, the Lord will answer;when you cry out, He will say, ‘Here I am.’If you get rid of the yoke among you,the finger-pointing and malicious speaking,

“I was sought by those who did not ask;I was found by those who did not seek Me.I said: Here I am, here I am,to a nation that was not called by My name.

As for me, here I am in your hands; do to me what you think is good and right.

When he came to his senses, he said, ‘How many of my father’s hired hands have more than enough food, and here I am dying of hunger!

As He was teaching in the temple complex, Jesus cried out, “You know Me and you know where I am from. Yet I have not come on My own, but the One who sent Me is true. You don’t know Him;

You will look for Me, but you will not find Me; and where I am, you cannot come.”

What is this remark He made: ‘You will look for Me, and you will not find Me; and where I am, you cannot come’?”

“Children, I am with you a little while longer. You will look for Me, and just as I told the Jews, ‘Where I am going you cannot come,’ so now I tell you.

“Lord,” Simon Peter said to Him, “where are You going?”Jesus answered, “Where I am going you cannot follow Me now, but you will follow later.”

You know the way to where I am going.”

There was a disciple in Damascus named Ananias. And the Lord said to him in a vision, “Ananias!”“Here I am, Lord!” he said.

Then Peter went down to the men and said, “Here I am, the one you’re looking for. What is the reason you’re here?”
