How long, Yahweh? Will You be angry forever?
Will Your jealousy keep burning like fire?

28300

Say to it: This is what the Lord God says:

Look! I am against you, Mount Seir.

just as the house of Israel was put to shame
because of Bethel that they trusted in.

Look, waters are rising from the north
and becoming an overflowing wadi.
They will overflow the land and everything in it,
the cities and their inhabitants.
The people will cry out,
and every inhabitant of the land will wail.

28307

Now pay attention: Today I am setting you free from the chains that were on your hands. If it pleases you to come with me to Babylon, come, and I will take care of you. But if it seems wrong to you to come with me to Babylon, go no farther. Look—the whole land is in front of you. Wherever it seems good and right for you to go, go there.”

28308

The people coming to fight the Chaldeans will fill the houses with the corpses of their own men that I strike down in My wrath and rage. I have hidden My face from this city because of all their evil.

28309

I will give away all the wealth of this city, all its products and valuables. Indeed, I will hand all the treasures of the kings of Judah over to their enemies. They will plunder them, seize them, and carry them off to Babylon.

28310

Who is it you are mocking?
Who is it you are opening your mouth
and sticking out your tongue at?
Isn’t it you, you rebellious children,
you race of liars,

28311

Therefore, this is what the Lord says: I am about to hand this city over to the Chaldeans, to Babylon’s king Nebuchadnezzar, and he will capture it.

28312

Yet You, Lord God, have said to me: Buy the field with silver and call in witnesses—even though the city has been handed over to the Chaldeans!”

28313

Then I understood their destiny.

28315

It is time for the Lord to act,
for they have violated Your instruction.

28316

You became weary on your many journeys,
but you did not say, “I give up!”
You found a renewal of your strength;

The earth has produced its harvest;
God, our God, blesses us.

28318

Nations rage, kingdoms topple;
the earth melts when He lifts His voice.

As for the Israelites and Judahites who lived in the cities of Judah, they also brought a tenth of the cattle and sheep, and a tenth of the dedicated things that were consecrated to the Lord their God. They gathered them into large piles.

who ordains victories for Jacob.

I am about to plead your case
and take vengeance on your behalf;
I will dry up her sea

to the place You established for them.

28358

You performed signs and wonders in the land of Egypt and do so to this very day both in Israel and among mankind. You made a name for Yourself, as is the case today.

28359

all the kings of Zimri,
all the kings of Elam,
and all the kings of Media;

28361

We all growl like bears
and moan like doves.
We hope for justice, but there is none;
for salvation, but it is far from us.

the Maker of heaven and earth,
the sea and everything in them.
He remains faithful forever,

28364

Your mind will meditate on the past terror:
“Where is the accountant?
Where is the tribute collector?
Where is the one who spied out our defenses?”

28365

Never take the word of truth from my mouth,
for I hope in Your judgments.

28366

With trumpets and the blast of the ram’s horn
shout triumphantly
in the presence of the Lord, our King.

28367

raising my voice in thanksgiving
and telling about Your wonderful works.

28374

and my children were around me,

28375

Lod’s, Hadid’s, and Ono’s people721

28376

Azariah fathered Helez, and Helez fathered Elasah.

28377

What you have done is not good. As the Lord lives, all of you deserve to die since you didn’t protect your lord, the Lord’s anointed. Now look around; where are the king’s spear and water jug that were by his head?”

28378

28383

The firstfruits of all that is in their land, which they bring to the Lord, belong to you. Every clean person in your house may eat them.

28384

You are to eat it as a most holy offering. Every male may eat it; it is to be holy to you.

and your treasures as plunder,
without cost, for all your sins

28400

We have become like those You never ruled over,
like those not called by Your name.

>

28401

Your first father sinned,
and your mediators have rebelled against Me.

28402

Your ropes are slack;
they cannot hold the base of the mast
or spread out the flag.
Then abundant spoil will be divided,
the lame will plunder it,

28403

Be ashamed Sidon, the stronghold of the sea,
for the sea has spoken:
“I have not been in labor or given birth.
I have not raised young men
or brought up young women.”

28404

They served their idols,
which became a snare to them.

28405

Then none who pass by will say,
“May the Lord’s blessing be on you.”

We bless you in the name of Yahweh.

28406

Then I would not be ashamed
when I think about all Your commands.

28408

Let the fields and everything in them exult.
Then all the trees of the forest will shout for joy

28409

So I gave them over to their stubborn hearts
to follow their own plans.

28410

I say: “My God, do not take me
in the middle of my life!
Your years continue through all generations.

28411

May he continue while the sun endures
and as long as the moon, throughout all generations.

28413

Rescue me from the miry mud; don’t let me sink.
Let me be rescued from those who hate me
and from the deep waters.

28414

My mouth speaks wisdom;
my heart’s meditation brings understanding.

28415

He gathers the waters of the sea into a heap;
He puts the depths into storehouses.

28416

Do not drag me away with the wicked,
with the evildoers,
who speak in friendly ways with their neighbors
while malice is in their hearts.

28417

So we called out to Yahweh, the God of our fathers, and the Lord heard our cry and saw our misery, hardship, and oppression.

28418

Gaal son of Ebed went out and stood at the entrance of the city gate. Then Abimelech and the people who were with him got up from their ambush.

If you turn back from following Him, He will once again leave this people in the wilderness, and you will destroy all of them.”

28422

from Ekron to the sea, all the cities near Ashdod, with their villages;

28427

He set the basin between the tent of meeting and the altar and put water in it for washing.

28428

Men of Arvad and Helech
were stationed on your walls all around,
and Gammadites were in your towers.
They hung their shields all around your walls;
they perfected your beauty.

28429

Now when the wall has fallen, will you not be asked, ‘Where is the coat of whitewash that you put on it?’

28430

I will turn against them. They may have escaped from the fire, but it will still consume them. And you will know that I am Yahweh when I turn against them.

28431

I will make Rabbah a pasture for camels and Ammon a sheepfold. Then you will know that I am Yahweh.”

Their inhabitants have become powerless,
dismayed, and ashamed.
They are plants of the field,
tender grass,
grass on the rooftops,
blasted by the east wind.

28433

I also will clap My hands together,
and I will satisfy My wrath.
I, Yahweh, have spoken.”

28434

then I might also reject the seed of Jacob and of My servant David—not taking from his descendants rulers over the descendants of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. Instead, I will restore their fortunes and have compassion on them.”

28435

I have heard a message from the Lord;
a messenger has been sent among the nations:
Assemble yourselves to come against her.
Rise up for war!

28437

This is what the Lord of Hosts, the God of Israel, says: ‘As for you and your wives, you women have spoken with your mouths, and you men fulfilled it by your deeds, saying, “We will keep our vows that we have made to burn incense to the queen of heaven and to pour out drink offerings for her.” Go ahead, confirm your vows! Pay your vows!’

28438

When I look, there is no one;
there is no counselor among them;
when I ask them, they have nothing to say.

28439

Give thanks to the God of heaven!
        His love is eternal.

28440

I will never forget Your precepts,
for You have given me life through them.

28441

Then they cried out to the Lord in their trouble,
and He brought them out of their distress.

28442

There I will make a horn grow for David;
I have prepared a lamp for My anointed one.

28443

You are my God, and I will give You thanks.
You are my God; I will exalt You.

28444

Do not let those who put their hope in You
be disgraced because of me,
Lord God of Hosts;
do not let those who seek You
be humiliated because of me,
God of Israel.

28445

Iniquities overwhelm me;
only You can atone for our rebellions.

28446

For Your faithful love is as high as the heavens;
Your faithfulness reaches the clouds.

28448

I will cause your name to be remembered for all generations;
therefore the peoples will praise you forever and ever.

28449

David added, “As the Lord lives, the Lord will certainly strike him down: either his day will come and he will die, or he will go into battle and perish.

28450

refusing to share with any of them his children’s flesh that he will eat because he has nothing left during the siege and hardship your enemy imposes on you in all your towns.

28451

Rise up, Lord!
Confront him; bring him down.
With Your sword, save me from the wicked.

28452

Teach us what we should say to Him;
we cannot prepare our case because of our darkness.

28453

Abdon was his firstborn son, then Zur, Kish, Baal, Ner, Nadab,

28457

and cried out, “Why, Lord God of Israel, has it occurred that one tribe is missing in Israel today?”

Each person also cut his own branch and followed Abimelech. They put the branches against the inner chamber and set it on fire around the people, and all the people in the Tower of Shechem died—about 1,000 men and women.

28671

These were the Reubenite clans,
and their registered men numbered 43,730.

28672

Balaam answered Balak, “Didn’t I previously tell the messengers you sent me:

28673

and the fourth row, a beryl, an onyx, and a jasper. They were surrounded with gold filigree in their settings.

28674

On the eleventh day Pagiel son of Ochran, leader of the Asherites, presented an offering.

28675

The men registered by their clans and their ancestral houses numbered 2,630.

28676

He made upright planks of acacia wood for the tabernacle.

28677

“Take one ram, and Aaron and his sons are to lay their hands on the ram’s head.

28678

Five of the curtains should be joined together, and the other five curtains joined together.

28679

Attach the other ends of the two cords to the two filigree settings, and in this way attach them to the ephod’s shoulder pieces in the front.

28680

Jacob heard that Shechem had defiled his daughter Dinah, but since his sons were with his livestock in the field, he remained silent until they returned.

28681

Then she told him the same story: “The Hebrew slave you brought to us came to make a fool of me,

28682

They captured all their possessions, children, and wives and plundered everything in the houses.

28683

Rebekah is here in front of you. Take her and go, and let her be a wife for your master’s son, just as the Lord has spoken.”

28685

So he took his relatives with him, pursued Jacob for seven days, and overtook him at Mount Gilead.

28686

Yes, it is coming, and it will happen.” This is the declaration of the Lord God. “This is the day I have spoken about.

28687

It had been planted
in a good field by abundant waters
in order to produce branches,
bear fruit, and become a splendid vine.

28688

For this is what the Lord God says:

The sword of Babylon’s king
will come against you!

28689

I will make the streams dry
and sell the land into the hands of evil men.
I will bring desolation
on the land and everything in it
by the hands of foreigners.
I, Yahweh, have spoken.

28690

On that day, messengers will go out from Me in ships to terrify confident Cush. Anguish will come over them on the day of Egypt’s doom. For indeed it is coming.”

28691

I will put your flesh on the mountains
and fill the valleys with your carcass.

28692

The land of Egypt will be a desolate ruin. Then they will know that I am Yahweh. Because you said, ‘The Nile is my own; I made it,’

28693

Even when it was whole it could not be made into a useful object. How much less can it ever be made into anything useful when the fire has devoured it and it is charred!

28694

Then I said, “Oh, Lord God, they are saying of me, ‘Isn’t he just posing riddles?’”

28695

However, there were 10 men among them who said to Ishmael, “Don’t kill us, for we have hidden treasure in the field—wheat, barley, oil, and honey!” So he stopped and did not kill them along with their companions.

28696

Dibon, Nebo, Beth-diblathaim,

28697

King Zedekiah said, “Here he is; he’s in your hands since the king can’t do anything against you.”

28698

For this is what the Lord of Hosts says about the pillars, the sea, the water carts, and the rest of the articles that still remain in this city,

28699

Look! Siege ramps have come against the city to capture it, and the city, as a result of the sword, famine, and plague, has been handed over to the Chaldeans who are fighting against it. What You have spoken has happened. Look, You can see it!

28700

I will put it into the hands of your tormentors,
who said to you:
Lie down, so we can walk over you.
You made your back like the ground,
and like a street for those who walk on it.

28701

They no longer sing and drink wine;
beer is bitter to those who drink it.

28702

Then the word of the Lord came to me:

28703

All of them are put to shame, even humiliated;
the makers of idols go in humiliation together.

28704

So listen to this, afflicted
and drunken one—but not with wine.

28705

And the inhabitants of this coastland will say on that day, ‘Look, this is what has happened to those we relied on and fled to for help to rescue us from the king of Assyria! Now, how will we escape?’”

28706

He looked down from His holy heights—
the Lord gazed out from heaven to earth

28707

things we have heard and known
and that our fathers have passed down to us.

28708

Feet trample it,
the feet of the humble,
the steps of the poor.

28709

Jerusalem, built as a city should be,
solidly joined together,

28710

The mountains melt like wax
at the presence of the Lord
at the presence of the Lord of all the earth.

28711

While you lie among the sheepfolds,
the wings of a dove are covered with silver,
and its feathers with glistening gold.

28712

Go around Zion, encircle it;
count its towers,

28713

Your name, God, like Your praise,
reaches to the ends of the earth;
Your right hand is filled with justice.

28714

Rise up! Help us!
Redeem us because of Your faithful love.

28715

If we had forgotten the name of our God
and spread out our hands to a foreign god,

28716

I am speechless; I do not open my mouth
because of what You have done.

28717

But You, Lord, be gracious to me and raise me up;
then I will repay them.

28718

the eighteenth to Hanani, his sons, and his brothers—12

28719

So Esther’s command confirmed these customs of Purim, which were then written into the record.

28720

Jokmeam and its pasturelands, Beth-horon and its pasturelands,

28721

These were the descendants of Shobal the father of Kiriath-jearim: Haroeh, half of the Manahathites,

28722

Then David shouted to the troops and to Abner son of Ner: “Aren’t you going to answer, Abner?”

“Who are you who calls to the king?” Abner asked.

28723

He took all the sheep and cattle, which were driven ahead of the other livestock, and the people shouted, “This is David’s plunder!”

28724

Instead, the Benjaminites gathered together from their cities to Gibeah to go out and fight against the Israelites.

28725

Moses gave the tribute to Eleazar the priest as a contribution for the Lord, as the Lord had commanded Moses.

28726

Take the tribute from their half and give it to Eleazar the priest as a contribution to the Lord.

28727

If it is one of the unclean livestock, it must be ransomed according to your assessment by adding a fifth of its value to it. If it is not redeemed, it can be sold according to your assessment.

28728

But Pharaoh hanged the chief baker, just as Joseph had explained to them.

28729

Position the altar of burnt offering in front of the entrance to the tabernacle, the tent of meeting.

28730

Six branches extended from its sides, three branches of the lampstand from one side and three branches of the lampstand from the other side.

28731

And Joseph provided his father, his brothers, and all his father’s household with food for their dependents.

28732

The whole community of Israel must celebrate it.

28733

Then Abimelech called Abraham in and said to him, “What have you done to us? How did I sin against you that you have brought such enormous guilt on me and on my kingdom? You have done things to me that should never be done.”

28734

Nebuzaradan, the commander of the guards, deported some of the poorest of the people, as well as the rest of the people who were left in the city, the deserters who had defected to the king of Babylon, and the rest of the craftsmen.

28735

He entrusted them to his slaves as separate herds and said to them, “Go on ahead of me, and leave some distance between the herds.”

28736

Then he blinded Zedekiah and bound him with bronze chains. The king of Babylon brought Zedekiah to Babylon, where he kept him in custody until his dying day.

28737

At My table you will eat your fill of horses and riders, of mighty men and all the warriors.” This is the declaration of the Lord God.

28738

From that day forward the house of Israel will know that I am Yahweh their God.

28739

When they pass through the land and one of them sees a human bone, he will set up a marker next to it until the buriers have buried it in the Valley of Hamon-gog.

28740

I will make Mount Seir a desolate waste and will cut off from it those who come and go.

28741

However, when Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon marched into the land, we said: Come, let’s go into Jerusalem to get away from the Chaldean and Aramean armies. So we have been living in Jerusalem.”

28742

Jeremiah said to the house of the Rechabites: “This is what the Lord of Hosts, the God of Israel, says: ‘Because you have obeyed the command of your ancestor Jonadab and have kept all his commands and have done all that he commanded you,

28743

You will be My people,
and I will be your God.

28744

The word of the Lord came to Jeremiah:

28745

For this is what the Lord of Hosts, the God of Israel, says, ‘I have put an iron yoke on the neck of all these nations that they might serve King Nebuchadnezzar of Babylon, and they will serve him. I have also put the wild animals under him.’”

28746

When the officials of Judah heard these things, they went from the king’s palace to the Lord’s temple and sat at the entrance of the New Gate.

28747

The prophet Jeremiah said, “Amen! May the Lord do so. May the Lord make the words you have prophesied come true and may He restore the articles of the Lord’s temple and all the exiles from Babylon to this place!

28748

Command them to go to their masters, saying: This is what the Lord of Hosts, the God of Israel, says: This is what you must say to your masters:

28749

We have escaped like a bird from the hunter’s net;
the net is torn, and we have escaped.

28750

A long time later the Lord said to me, “Go at once to the Euphrates and get the underwear that I commanded you to hide there.”

28751

They exchanged their glory
for the image of a grass-eating ox.

28752

You soften it with showers and bless its growth,
soaking its furrows and leveling its ridges.

28753

Yahweh is exalted above all the nations,
His glory above the heavens.

28754

These two things have happened to you:
devastation and destruction,
famine and sword.
Who will grieve for you?
How can I comfort you?

28755

This is the message that the Lord previously announced about Moab.

28758

No one who acts deceitfully
will live in my palace;
no one who tells lies
will remain in my presence.

28759

A stupid person does not know,
a fool does not understand this:

28760

So now, don’t let Hezekiah deceive you, and don’t let him mislead you like this. Don’t believe him, for no god of any nation or kingdom has been able to deliver his people from my power or the power of my fathers. How much less will your God deliver you from my power!’”

28761

Then their children who do not know the law will listen and learn to fear the Lord your God as long as you live in the land you are crossing the Jordan to possess.”

28762

Your sons will succeed your ancestors;
you will make them princes throughout the land.

28764

The seventh, for the seventh month, was Helez the Pelonite from the sons of Ephraim; 24,000 were in his division.

28765

My foot stands on level ground;
I will praise the Lord in the assemblies.

28766

Some of the Judean divisions of Levites were in Benjamin.

28767

But Aaron and his sons did all the work of the most holy place. They presented the offerings on the altar of burnt offerings and on the altar of incense to make atonement for Israel according to all that Moses the servant of God had commanded.

28768

and the families of Kiriath-jearim—the Ithrites, Puthites, Shumathites, and Mishraites. The Zorathites and Eshtaolites descended from these.

28769

the Lord appeared at the tent in a pillar of cloud, and the cloud stood at the entrance to the tent.

28770

Use uncut stones to build the altar of the Lord your God and offer burnt offerings to the Lord your God on it.

28771

In this way, God turned back on Abimelech the evil that he had done against his father, by killing his 70 brothers.

28772

Kiriath-baal (that is, Kiriath-jearim), and Rabbah—two cities, with their villages.

28773

Kain, Gibeah, and Timnah—10 cities, with their villages;

28774

Remember that you were a slave in Egypt, and the Lord your God redeemed you from there. Therefore I am commanding you to do this.

28775

There are to be eight planks with their silver bases: 16 bases; two bases under the first plank and two bases under each plank.

28776

They departed from Hor-haggidgad and camped at Jotbathah.

28777

Moses then brought out all the staffs from the Lord’s presence to all the Israelites. They saw them, and each man took his own staff.

28778

The bronze of the presentation offering totaled 5,310 pounds.

28779

The half yard on one side and the half yard on the other of what is left over along the length of the tent curtains should be hanging down over the sides of the tabernacle on either side to cover it.

28780

“Get me this girl as a wife,” he told his father Hamor.

28781

He brought the ark into the tabernacle, put up the veil for the screen, and screened off the ark of the testimony, just as the Lord had commanded him.

28782

With the remaining 44 pounds he made the hooks for the posts, overlaid their tops, and supplied bands for them.

28783

Then Laban said, “Name your wages, and I will pay them.”

28784

These are the sons of Esau (that is, Edom),
and these are their chiefs.

28785

Then join them together into a single stick so that they become one in your hand.

28786

You will inherit it in equal portions, since I swore to give it to your ancestors. So this land will fall to you as an inheritance.

28787

The prince must not take any of the people’s inheritance, evicting them from their property. He is to provide an inheritance for his sons from his own property, so that none of My people will be displaced from his own property.”

28788

He spoke to me: “Son of man, look with your eyes, listen with your ears, and pay attention to everything I am going to show you, for you have been brought here so that I might show it to you. Report everything you see to the house of Israel.”

28789

They will know that I am Yahweh their God when I regather them to their own land after having exiled them among the nations. I will leave none of them behind.

28790

You must not build a house or sow seed or plant a vineyard. Those things are not for you. Rather, you must live in tents your whole life, so you may live a long time on the soil where you stay as a temporary resident.’

28791

Therefore this is what the Lord God says: I swear that the nations all around you will endure their own insults.

28792

Jeremiah told Seraiah, “When you get to Babylon, see that you read all these words aloud.

28793

therefore, mountains of Israel, hear the word of the Lord God. This is what the Lord God says to the mountains and hills, to the ravines and valleys, to the desolate ruins and abandoned cities, which have become plunder and a mockery to the rest of the nations all around.

28794

By the ninth day of the fourth month the famine was so severe in the city that the people of the land had no food.

28795

“Pick up some large stones and set them in the mortar of the brick pavement that is at the opening of Pharaoh’s palace at Tahpanhes. Do this in the sight of the Judean men

28796

For day and night Your hand was heavy on me;
my strength was drained
as in the summer’s heat.Selah

28797

The Chaldeans will become plunder;
all Babylon’s plunderers will be fully satisfied.
This is the Lord’s declaration.

28798

Let that man be like the cities
the Lord demolished without compassion.
Let him hear an outcry in the morning
and a war cry at noontime

28799

You have led your own selves astray because you are the ones who sent me to the Lord your God, saying, ‘Pray to the Lord our God on our behalf, and as for all that the Lord our God says, tell it to us, and we’ll act accordingly.’

28800

Therefore, this is what the Lord says: ‘I am about to send you off the face of the earth. You will die this year because you have spoken rebellion against the Lord.’”

28801

Then the Rabshakeh stood and called out loudly in Hebrew:

Listen to the words of the great king, the king of Assyria!

28803

‘I have not sent them’—this is the Lord’s declaration—‘and they are prophesying falsely in My name; therefore, I will banish you, and you will perish—you and the prophets who are prophesying to you.’”

28804

He has raised up a horn for His people,
resulting in praise to all His godly ones,
to the Israelites, the people close to Him.
Hallelujah!

28805

I am like a desert owl,
like an owl among the ruins.

28806

The high-walled fortress will be brought down,
thrown to the ground, to the dust.

28807

But I call to You for help, Lord;
in the morning my prayer meets You.

28808

Be glad in Yahweh, you righteous ones,
and praise His holy name.

28809

And it will be said of Zion,
“This one and that one were born in her.”
The Most High Himself will establish her.

28810

Rise up, God, judge the earth,
for all the nations belong to You.

28811

Let heaven and earth praise Him,
the seas and everything that moves in them,

28812

to design artistic works in gold, silver, and bronze,

28813

Say to God, “How awe-inspiring are Your works!
Your enemies will cringe before You
because of Your great strength.

28814

Do not kill them; otherwise, my people will forget.
By Your power, make them homeless wanderers
and bring them down,
Lord, our shield.

28815

They proceeded to take away the altars that were in Jerusalem, and they took away the incense altars and threw them into the Kidron Valley.

28816

Your hand will capture all your enemies;
your right hand will seize those who hate you.

28817

Then Hezekiah humbled himself for the pride of his heart—he and the inhabitants of Jerusalem—so the Lord’s wrath didn’t come on them during Hezekiah’s lifetime.

28818

Consequently, Hilkiah told Shaphan the court secretary, “I have found the book of the law in the Lord’s temple,” and he gave the book to Shaphan.

28819

So David took the spear and the water jug by Saul’s head, and they went their way. No one saw them, no one knew, and no one woke up; they all remained asleep because a deep sleep from the Lord came over them.

28820

these mentioned by name were leaders in their families. Their ancestral houses increased greatly.

28821

Halhul, Beth-zur, Gedor,

28822

Please stay here overnight as the others did, so that I may find out what else the Lord has to tell me.”

28823

Place the gold altar for incense in front of the ark of the testimony. Put up the screen for the entrance to the tabernacle.

28824

Joseph said to his father, “Not that way, my father! This one is the firstborn. Put your right hand on his head.”

28825

On the ninth day Abidan son of Gideoni, leader of the Benjaminites, presented an offering.

28826

He put up the screen at the entrance to the tabernacle.

28827

the lampstand for light with its utensils and lamps as well as the oil for the light;

28828

The length of each curtain should be 45 feet and the width of each curtain six feet. All 11 curtains are to have the same measurements.

28829

He fell asleep and dreamed a second time: Seven heads of grain, plump and ripe, came up on one stalk.

28830

After them, seven other cows, sickly and thin, came up from the Nile and stood beside those cows along the bank of the Nile.

28831

Horses and chariots went up with him; it was a very impressive procession.

28832

when seven well-fed, healthy-looking cows came up from the Nile and began to graze among the reeds.

28833

He did not recognize him, because his hands were hairy like those of his brother Esau; so he blessed him.

28834

He asked me, “Do you see this, son of man?” Then he led me back to the bank of the river.

28835

He burned the Lord’s temple, the king’s palace, all the houses of Jerusalem, and all the houses of the nobles.

28836

When they had used up the grain they had brought back from Egypt, their father said to them, “Go back and buy us some food.”

28837

Therefore this is what the Lord God says:

Because you regard your heart as that of a god,

28838

Then say, ‘In the same way, Babylon will sink and never rise again because of the disaster I am bringing on her. They will grow weary.’”

The words of Jeremiah end here.

28839

And if I ask you, you will not answer.

28840

He burns half of it in a fire,
and he roasts meat on that half.
He eats the roast and is satisfied.
He warms himself and says, “Ah!
I am warm, I see the blaze.”

28841

Therefore, this is what the Lord God says:

Woe to the city of bloodshed!
I Myself will make the pile of kindling large.

28842

Beware that Hezekiah does not mislead you by saying, ‘The Lord will deliver us.’ Has any one of the gods of the nations delivered his land from the power of the king of Assyria?

28843

But know for certain that if you put me to death, you will bring innocent blood on yourselves, on this city, and on its residents, for it is certain the Lord has sent me to speak all these things directly to you.”

28844

Woe to you, Moab!
The people of Chemosh have perished
because your sons have been taken captive
and your daughters have gone into captivity.

28845

They entered and possessed it, but they did not obey Your voice or live according to Your instructions. They failed to perform all You commanded them to do, and so You have brought all this disaster on them.

28846

You say, “No!
We will escape on horses”—
therefore you will escape!—
and, “We will ride on fast horses”—
but those who pursue you will be faster.

28847

King Jehoiakim, all his warriors, and all the officials heard his words, and the king tried to put him to death. When Uriah heard, he fled in fear and went to Egypt.

28848

Do not let my heart turn to any evil thing
or perform wicked acts
with men who commit sin.
Do not let me feast on their delicacies.

28849

though its waters roar and foam
and the mountains quake with its turmoil.Selah

28850

There is no one to guide her
among all the children she has raised;
there is no one to take hold of her hand
among all the offspring she has brought up.

28851

when He performed His miraculous signs in Egypt
and His wonders in the region of Zoan.

28852

Then I can answer the one who taunts me,
for I trust in Your word.

28853

For my days vanish like smoke,
and my bones burn like a furnace.

28854

Also, the Lord will provide what is good,
and our land will yield its crops.

28855

“Will the Lord reject forever
and never again show favor?

28856

Look at them—the wicked!
They are always at ease,
and they increase their wealth.

28857

I am bent over and brought low;
all day long I go around in mourning.

28858

Remember Your congregation,
which You purchased long ago
and redeemed as the tribe for Your own possession.
Remember Mount Zion where You dwell.

28859

Moab is My washbasin.
I throw My sandal on Edom;
I shout in triumph over Philistia.”

28860

He is always generous, always lending,
and his children are a blessing.

28861

You give him blessings forever;
You cheer him with joy in Your presence.

28862

Keros’s descendants,
Sia’s descendants, Padon’s descendants,

28863

So the service was established; the priests stood at their posts and the Levites in their divisions according to the king’s command.

28864

because they have abandoned Me and burned incense to other gods in order to provoke Me with all the works of their hands. My wrath will be poured out on this place, and it will not be quenched.’

28865

for Dan, Azarel son of Jeroham.
Those were the leaders of the tribes of Israel.

28866

He also made a covering for the tent from ram skins dyed red and a covering of manatee skins on top of it.

28867

Moses and Eleazar the priest received the gold from the commanders of thousands and of hundreds and brought it into the tent of meeting as a memorial for the Israelites before the Lord.

28868

To the rest of the Kohathites, 10 towns from half the tribe of Manasseh were assigned by lot.

28869

All the people took note of this, and it pleased them. In fact, everything the king did pleased them.

28870

“All the posts around the courtyard are to be banded with silver and have silver hooks and bronze bases.

28871

The cities will be for them to live in, and their pasturelands will be for their herds, flocks, and all their other animals.

28872

No one may go up with you; in fact, no one must be seen anywhere on the mountain. Even the flocks and herds are not to graze in front of that mountain.”

28873

Make two additional planks for the two back corners of the tabernacle.

28874

with their grain offering of fine flour mixed with oil, six quarts with the bull, four quarts with the ram,

28875

Make the planks for the tabernacle as follows: 20 planks for the south side,

28876

Joseph kissed each of his brothers as he wept, and afterward his brothers talked with him.

28877

So Joseph made it a law, still in effect today in the land of Egypt, that a fifth of the produce belongs to Pharaoh. Only the priests’ land does not belong to Pharaoh.

28878

These were the sons of Bilhah, whom Laban gave to his daughter Rachel. She bore to Jacob: seven persons.

28879

Esau said, “Let me leave some of my people with you.”

But he replied, “Why do that? Please indulge me, my lord.”

28880

By your wisdom and understanding
you have acquired wealth for yourself.
You have acquired gold and silver
for your treasuries.

28881

That day Esau started on his way back to Seir,

28882

Yet they will occupy My sanctuary, serving as guards at the temple gates and ministering at the temple. They will slaughter the burnt offerings and other sacrifices for the people and will stand before them to serve them.

28883

it was 14 feet, and its pilasters were 3½ feet. The portico of the gate was on the temple side.

28884

“They are the ones who may enter My sanctuary and draw near to My table to serve Me. They will keep My mandate.

28885

And Jacob listened to his father and mother and went to Paddan-aram.

28886

Yet you say, ‘The Lord’s way isn’t fair.’ I will judge each of you according to his ways, house of Israel.”

28887

Your wealth, merchandise, and goods,
your sailors and captains,
those who repair your leaks,
those who barter for your goods,
and all the warriors within you,
with all the other people on board,
sink into the heart of the sea
